I’ve had an iPhone 4 for the last two years, and it never would have occurred to me to think of it as thick and heavy until I unboxed this beauty. Surprisingly thin and light. Screen color is very impressive with maybe a slightly warm cast, which I prefer to the 4′s slight coolness. At any rate, much better color range than the 4, I can tell just by looking at them side by side. The new Earpods sound pretty damn good, but I can tell already they won’t stay in my ears for long; sticking with my premium in-ear models. Packaging is a work of design art, of course. Already loving the tiny, bi-directional “Lightning” USB connector. It seats with a satisfying little click, a nice piece of tactile feedback that makes an interface designer smile. The phone is ridiculously fast and responsive. In all, a VERY impressive upgrade from my venerable and beloved 4.
