kinetic-typography-videoIf you're a music lover and a font fan, then a kinetic typography video beats the more traditional genres hands-down. Kinetic typography has demonstrated the ability to add significant emotive content and appeal to expressive text, allowing some of the qualities normally found in film and the spoken word to be added to static text. The text is presented in a manner intended to convey or evoke a particular idea or emotion. With the advent of film and graphic animation, the possibility of matching text and motion emerged. While you've no doubt seen a few famous examples, we've gathered up some lesser-watched creations for your viewing pleasure.

The power of the written word should not be underestimated, and while we are used to coping with more visual data than ever before, sometimes something as simple as text can cut through the white noise and make a big impact.

Kinetic type has been widely and successfully used in film as well as in television and computer-based advertising. Although varied in style, these videos all use kinetic typography, or "moving text," to illustrate the lyrics of a song. We've been impressed with how creative people can get with such a simple concept.

Take a look through our selection, we know there are dozens more great examples in existence, so link us in the comments to any of your favorites we've not included.
