You may have noticed that you are unable to view PSD files as thumbnails in Windows Explorer, for an unknown reason, Adobe has seen fit to remove this particular functionality from Photoshop. Here’s how to view thumbnails of .psd files without installing Photoshop.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………..

01. Download psicon.dll from here:

02. Now copy the downloaded file to:

  • C:Program FilesCommon FilesAdobeShell
  • If this folder doesn’t exist create it.

03. Download Photoshop.reg this file and Save it:

Now execute .Reg file you have made or downloaded and press Yes two times.

You have successfully completed the steps. Now you can view .psd files in windows explorer just like other Image files.
